Connection Of Nature
The project tried to enhance the relationship between mankind and nature. After digging background information and field observation, the team found that the site is nothing like wetland with higher ecological values such as Back Bund. Now Xuhui Waterfront is more used as a background for cultural venues, and its landscape design is aimed to meet formal needs. Designed to attract tourists, this site still has a long way to improve the local environment or meet residence needs, the team responded to the site with ecological values and meeting the needs of accessibility for citizens. The green bank on the west bund of the Huangpu River will be restored to provide habitat for urban wildlife.

Forest Of Steel
The project was limited within a small room and a lot of furniture should be kept because they were possessions of the school. So the design aimed to deal with the problem and give the most feasible solution. To arouse a sense of 'temporary' and 'unfinished', we chose what can be seen in the construction site-- pipe scaffolding as the main structure to design. When it is finished, I hope this project will make visitors think about the questions: 'What is the sign of completion in a project when it is forever a 'temporary' structure?' ''what is the finish line of a building? the completion of function or the image?' It creates tension between thoughts and reality making this space a place to resee the architecture.

Under the Same Roof
The project tried to find a way to interpret traditional elements into a modern way by focusing on the fifth facade, the roof, and the philosophy behind it. Unlike the way Western classical architectures look at nature, the Chinese preferred to hide their buildings in the natural environment. A small house hidden in the remote mountains is exactly what they want. When people are tired of their metropolitan life, they will come here, looking at the lake, and gain inner peace.
